Unfortunately the join in list is closed for 2017.

For the remainder of the year, this form is for those who are already on the 2017 list and need to make a correction or update their address information.

Filling in the comment section at the bottom of the page is still a quick and useful way to keep in touch. It lets participants know you’re here, say hello, solve postal issues and encourage others.

Note:   A word about addresses and how this works ..a couple of things to know before filling in this form.

  • your address won’t magically change the minute it’s filled in
  • but you can magically add your address to next years list ..by making your wishes known
  • all of this year’s addresses will be removed before November 01, 2017
  • again — even though your name is already in the book, we still encourage you to leave a reply and let people know you’re updating your information

  1. I am just posting a question to all the participants out there – if you write an email to someone off of ‘the list’, do you generally expect to receive a letter back? Are you treating InCoWriMo as an opportunity to hone your letter-writing skills with no expectations, or are you hoping to gain penpals? Just wondering :)

    • Thanks for asking. Interestingly –the big idea about incowrimo is the handwritten letter every day part. Without putting too fine a point on it; the replies, emails, forums, et cetera are sort of like satellites orbiting around the act of putting a smile on your face, picking up pen and paper and taking the time to write someone a letter by hand which is a worthwhile thing in itself. Keep an eye out for the post coming up in the next couple of days :)

      • Yeah, and that’s pretty much the stance I’ve taken so far, and I personally find it fun, and really relaxing, to just sit and put a pen to paper, as you say. ;)

Thank you so much for sharing this positive side of letter writing ….and your example. I’m sure your children treasure the saved letters….and I’m sure they will become a family legacy. Great day to you!

    Well met, pen lovers.

I am suffering from Lifeus Interruptus and have gotten way behind on my daily correspondence. If you have written to me already, you will get a response as I consider it important. I have many in my queue that will also get letters. I have time this weekend to sit down and catch up.

I have gotten so much enjoyment from the letters I’ve received so far this month. I enjoy the various papers and envelopes and ink colors. I’m also learning some interesting things. Here’s to a great 2nd half!

I have just received three letters mailed mid-December from Singapore and Malaysia. Also one from Australia that took only 12 days!! Hope this helps give an idea how fast things are moving out there.

    • Welcome! It’s pretty easy. Smile, choose a name from the list on the address book page and write them a letter and mail it. No one will stop you if you write more, but it only needs one to get started. Then tomorrow you can do the same. In between you can take a look at some of the comments and posts while you figure out who you would like to write. Pretty simple :) Cheers!

I am just curious about how people learned of incowrimo. I heard about it through my interest in fountain pens. Is that the case for a lot of folks or are there other ways people learned about this project?

I learned of InCoWriMo through a discussion on Postcrossing.

    • Postcrossing did introduce me to the February madnesses a few years ago… I will always have a soft spot for Postcrossing, although I now much prefer letters to postcards (so haven’t sent any postcards for a while – neither on the main site or the forum).
